Help us with our community hall

St Chad’s is facing a huge challenge – our church hall, used by the Parish and wider community on a regular basis is failing due to subsidence caused by shifting sand foundations. The existing damage will worsen over time if action is not taken and could begin to threaten community safety and the main church building structure.

Action must be taken now to ensure that St Chad’s can continue to serve the wider community.

Plans have been carefully prepared to demolish and rebuild the hall. The new hall has been designed with the community in mind and will be a warm, welcoming place available to the whole community.

There will be space for meetings, workshops, community meals, community meals, counselling, retreats, and much more. We will come together as a community for connection and support and to support some of our most vulnerable.

This comes at a significant cost, estimated at $1.5 million. Fundraising has begun and we need the help of our amazing community to reach this ambitious goal – you can help us get there.

We are grateful for donations of any size, large or small. Donations of $500 or more from individuals or families and $1000 or more from businesses will be recognised with a named brick in our cross of recognition. The cross will be made using bricks from the original church hall and laid in the ground outside the church on completion of the rebuild. It will serve as a reminder for years to come of what we can achieve as a community.
